Cairo by Plane: Pyramids, Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum

Overview

An exclusive one-day experience in the Egyptian capital with flights included and an official Italian-speaking Egyptologist guide. Day programme

1. 1

   Departure and flight to Cairo: early-morning hotel pick-up, airport transfer and a direct flight of about 50–60 minutes. Welcome in Cairo by the Egyptologist guide in a private air-conditioned vehicle.

2. 2

   Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM): entry to the largest archaeological museum in the world devoted to a single civilisation — the atrium with the colossal statue of Ramses II, the monumental ceremonial staircase and the rich galleries of pharaonic masterpieces.

   Oriental lunch: a stop at a selected traditional restaurant serving local cuisine.

   Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx: a close-up visit to the majestic Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus, a panoramic stop for unique photos, then the Valley Temple and the iconic Sphinx.

5. 5

   Craft stop: a short visit to a traditional papyrus workshop or an atelier of Egyptian essences and perfumes.

6. 6

   Return flight: transfer to Cairo airport for the evening flight back to Sharm El Sheikh, then a shuttle to your resort.

What to bring

• Original passport with an ordinary entry visa for Egypt — the “Sinai Only” stamp alone is not valid for Cairo
• A breakfast box requested at the resort reception the evening before departure
• Very comfortable closed shoes and practical clothing for walking around historical sites
• Sunglasses, a hat and sun protection
• Cash for drinks with meals, souvenirs or tips
